This compact tea kettle holds a quart of water and boils it even faster than a microwave, with the added advantage of a built-in whistle to let you know when the water is ready. The more water in the kettle, the louder the whistle. A stainless-steel lid on the no-drip spout flips up for easy filling and pouring, and keeps steam away from hands. Two additional safety features: a maximum fill line on the spout prevents boil-overs, and a thermostat automatically turns off the heating element in case the kettle boils dry or gets plugged in while empty. The exterior of the kettle is stay-cool plastic, and the interior base is anodized to resist mineral build-up. This is my second purchase as a gift to a friend. I had my original one in the office for the last 5 years and it's still going strong. It's just perfect size for my daily use in the office. Boils water in couple minutes and compact enough to be out of the way of tons of paper and files. Highly recommended.

This is a great little kettle!! Reasonably priced and lightweight and a REAL kettle. I was unable to fing anything like this locally, so thank you Amazon. The only stuff they had locally looked like coffee percolators from the 80"s!!!

I have owned this tea kettle for two years, and have noticed that the cord gets hot. Today I unplugged it and not only was there a spark and crack, but an electrical jolt went through my hand and up into my arm. I had been very careful to just touch the plastic part - know that I did not touch the metal prong - and did not have my other hand on metal or anything. More than and hour later my hand and arm are still in pain from the electrical shock. I plan to throw this kettle out. I do not recommend it.
