 I love this electric water kettle ! August 30, 2010

After traveling the Europe I fell in love with these electric water kettles.
We used one at a relatives house in England and another at a relatives house in Ireland.
I ordered this one because of several features:
1) auto shut off
2) no open electic coils
3) outside of pot doesn't get hot
4) kettle comes off base, so that you don't have a cord hanging as you pour the water
5) T-Fal makes great products!
6) The water boils very fast and the tea is ready quickly
I am so happy with this product. It is far better than any of them I used in Europe. I am buying another one for my daughters dorm room. I know that the price is a little more than the other models, however; I think this product will last a long time and for something you use everyday it is better to invest in the "best".
I strongly recommend this electric kettle!!!

I bought this kettle to replace a more expensive glass electric kettle that had malfunctioned within its first year. I finally received a replacement glass kettle, but I like this plastic one so much (lid is much more sturdy) that I'm going to continue using it. Haven't used the variable temperature feature - I just use the kettle for making tea - but it's a nice option. Lid opening mechanism and power switch all feel solid.

Plastic smell is terrible!! the taste was even worse!! I called manufacturer t-fal to complain. I sent product to them!! Waiting to hear .

I discovered this appliance when I rented a villa in Provence several years ago. It heated water for tea and coffee like lightening. I wanted to buy one and bring it home but the electrical plugs are different there so I couldn't. I was thrilled to find the same unit by the same maker T-Fal, available in this country. But make no mistake. It is NOT as fast as those in Europe. I think it has something to do with the amount of power delivered by their utility companies. Vitesse is French for fast or speedy. I bought one from Amazon several years ago and finally let go of it because the metal bottom interior started to show wear and peeling. I ordered a new one which is slightly different with a dial knob to control how hot you want the water to get. I think this is kind of overkill. The point is that you want to boil water and do it fast. Interestingly, the name Vitesse has been changed to Vitesses. A confusing move by the manufacturer I thought. I would prefer this unit to be offered in black as well as white. Otherwise, I think it worthy of my pressious counter space and a real time saver.

This electric kettle is the best.
It is perfect for quickly sanitizing my son's bottles,
as well as reducing cooking time.
The water has absolutely no plastic taste
(I boiled water three times before my first use),
and the kettle is definitely great quality.
Love that it turns off on its own as a safety
feature.
