Product Description The Micom Water Boiler & Warmer features four keep warm temperature settings; 140°F, 175°F, 195°F and 208°F. Its energy-saving timer function (6-10 hours) automatically turns on the boiler at a later time to save electricity, and the caf drip dispensing mode allows slower dispensing. Other features include one-touch electric dispensing system for easy dispensing and an easy-to-read LCD display that shows actual water temperatures at all times.

Use it for pots of coffee and cups of tea March 10, 2010 Emmett Hughlett (Vermont, USA) We use the Zojirushi water kettle every day.
I purchased it because I was tired of waiting for 2 liters (quarts) of water to boil in the stove-top tea kettle every morning when preparing coffee. We prefer our coffee freshly ground and brewed through a Melita funnel, so we need 2 liters hot but not boiling.
The Zojirushi kettle instantly provides the hot water at just the right temperature (208'F) so I can make a pot of 6 cups in the time it takes to grind the coffee and fill the funnel with hot water (funnel and filter size is number 6) . The kettle is just the right height so I can easily slide the pot and funnel under the pour spout. The two pour speeds are handy. I use the slow speed to get the grounds wet (if too fast at first, the grounds float on the hot water in the funnel) then switch to high speed to finish the job. Can brew a pot in about 4 or 5 minutes! Also, I don't waste heated water like I did by boiling too much water in the teapot.
It's so nice to offer guests a hot cup of tea or coffee so quickly.
I refill the kettle easily, even if it is only half empty, by quickly disconnecting the power cord (it's attached magnetically, so just slide the kettle away and the cord detaches), and moving it near the sink so I can use the sink spray hose to fill it with cold water. The lid is hinged so you don't worry about what to do with the hot-steamy lid after opening the kettle. The Zojirushi kettle heats water fast!... That cute little song it plays to notify you it's ready seems to play just a few minutes after I refill it.
It's also a sure-fire conversation piece when guest see you prepare their hot drink!
Can't Live Without It March 6, 2010 Colleen J. Cooke (Phoenix) I recently went on vacation where I checked into three different hotels. I toted this magic urn with me to them all. (It has a nifty handle that makes carrying easy.)
Not only does it heat water to three different temperatures, it de-chlorinates the water. I live in Arizona where tap water tastes especially nasty. Before my Zojirushi, I had to buy buy bottled water for drinking, cooking and tea making. After my Zojirushi, I just fill pitchers with ice, pour the hot water over it, and I have delicious, room-temperature water. Then, I fill it again to have hot water for tea always at the ready.
Maintenance is sometimes a drag, but easy. Just fill the Zojirushi with water and some form of citric acid (I use reconstituted lemon juice) and hold down the "boil" button. The Zojirushi cleans itself in a few hours.
If my husband would let me, I'd own two because I use it so much I hate to put it out of commission to clean it!

Works great! March 3, 2010 Happy Shopper (Boston, MA USA) I have been using this every day since I got it. Love it for making hot tea. I also use it to quickly make broth (just add a cube to hot water). The music that plays for different actions (such as when the water reaches boiling temp) bothers my husband, but the kids and I think it's funny. I think there are directions to change the music, but I haven't bothered.
A Must Have for Coffee & Tea Drinkers February 16, 2010 G. MAREK (Austin, Texas United States) I have been a long time coffee drinker, and have recently incorporated hot teas into my regimen as well. Filling up and warming up kettles gets old quickly, especially if you consume large amounts of beverages on a daily basis. The Zojirushi Water Boiler/Warmer quickly eases this job, and does so in style, I might add.
This item is well made, and the little thoughtful extras included make life so much easier. If you like Gyokuro green tea, fear not, the 140 degree setting will take care of you. Oolong? No worries, 195 degree setting there. How about good, old fashioned, drip coffee? 208 degree setting. And, speaking of drip coffee, this item has a great feature to slow the dispensing water for the drip coffee. I use a Chemex coffee maker, and it slides right underneath the spout; hot, fresh coffee, bingo. The entire device also swivels, has a (changeable) chime when the boiling is complete, and gives constant read outs of temperature and water level. There is also a safety feature, an "Unlock" button must be pushed before water can be dispensed. As mentioned by other reviewers, it also has a "quick disconnect" magnetic power cord.
Don't be scared by the price. If it seems high, think of it as investing in a quality product by a quality company and think of the time and effort you will save down the line. The only (minor) drawback for me is the length of time it takes the water to cool down from boiling to 140 degrees, because I do like my Gyokuro. Aside from that, it's a great product and a great addition to your kitchen. Highly recommended.
Easy to use ...but it's made in China January 25, 2010 Eve (NYC) 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
I normally don't prefer buying any electrinic items that are made in China mainly because of the quality issue. Since Amazon doesn't specify on most of products listed on its website, there is no way to tell. This item has only been used for a couple months and so far so good. Hope it will last.
