4 out of 5 stars Satisfied   September 3, 2010

I bought this kettle directly from Pino a month ago, and so far I am very satisfied with it.
I guess, I got the latest version of it, it is nickle-brushed and shows temeparature in Centigrades (my preference). It looks like they redesigned the water level gage - it is like a ladder and it is permanently fixed now. Simple, solid and economical solution.

It heats water to your set temperature (I set it to 100C), gives a soft signal a few times and then lets water to cooldown to set temperature (I set it to 80C) and then maintains that temperature (in the range approximately between 77C to 84C).

Averall design is nice and simple. The volume is a bit less than of other kettles, but it is exactly what I was looking for. It is ideal for 1- 2, may be 3 people.

Why not 5 stars? I am confused with their warranty - just 3 months. I've never seen such a short warranty for anything so far.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect Kettle for Tea Drinkers   August 26, 2010
TeechTX (Texas, USA)
I love this electric kettle. It has a reasonably small footprint on my counter and looks nice, it's lightweight but not flimsy, its temperature buttons and digital screen are well-located and easy to read, it has a "beep" to let you know when the water has reached the desired temperature, and it's no noisier than my stove top kettle (if that). It will hold water at the desired temperature for additional brews of your tea, an especially nice feature for those who discard the first brewing of loose teas. The problems others have mentioned are not ones I have encountered. There was no odor to my pot when I unpacked it -- a quick boil of two potsful of water as instructed and it was clean and ready to go. Nor has the fullness gauge been a problem. Mine was also loose when I unpacked the kettle -- I think it was packed that way. After a couple of attempts, I found that if I held the gauge almost level (or as level as one can inside the pot!), slid the tab into the slot for it under the handle, and then bent it gently down until its bottom end wedged against the bottom of the pot, it became completely stable. You do have to bend it, and I recommend doing it gently so you don't snap it off, but it is clearly meant to be wedged in at an angle. Then it is fairly easy to read the measurements on the gauge because they are on little "shelves" that are horizontal. (If you have a Pino, you will know what I'm talking about; if you don't this may not make a lot of sense, but the bottom line is that the gauge can be securely put in place and be useful.) I haven't tested the water temps w/ an external thermometer, but based on tea brewing, they are accurate. Like most metal kettles, the outside gets hot -- this is not for kiddies to play with -- but the handle is designed where you don't need a potholder to pick up the boiling kettle. There's plenty of clearance. Use the standard precautions about steam -- don't have the spout right under a cabinet when it's boiling or you'll get dampness on the cabinet bottom, don't reach over the spout to reach the handle when water is boiling. In all, this kettle does everything my Chantal stovetop kettle does, but better and w/o tying up a stove burner, and it does a lot more that I especially value when brewing my teas. I definitely recommend it as a super value.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent water heater   August 8, 2010

This kettle is fast, relatively small, does not have plastics in the hot water, I like being able to choose the temperature for making coffee with a French press. And it costs less than some other kettles which give you a choice of temperatures.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome Kettle!   May 10, 2010

This little kettle is awesome. I use it for everything from making tea, to pour-over coffee, to heating up water to warm my thermos or coffee cups without running gallons of wather down the drain waiting for my wather heater to kick in. It can be set to heat water to a set temperature or, after boiling water, it will hold it at a programmed temp until you're ready to use it. I'm very happy with this purchase!

5 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT! So far, so good!   April 20, 2010

I've only had this kettle a couple of weeks so I don't know about durability that one reviewer complained about. So far, I ADORE it!!! No plastic in touch with the water, and I love love love how it displays the ACTUAL temperature of the water. You can actually WATCH the water boil if you want :) Easy to work with, and just altogether great!

I liked the looks of the capresso glass one much better, but couldn't stand the smell. This one is not gorgeous for looks (I'd prefer less black personally), but it does the job VERY well, and at the end of the day that's what's important, isn't it...
