Product Description Advanced design: concealed heating element is never in contact with water, so there's no build-up of objectionable mineral deposits on it. 360 degrees cordless kettle lifts from corded base for easy filling, pouring and serving. Boils water faster than stove or microwave oven. Automatically shuts off when water boils. Boil dry safety shut off protection. Water level gauge, convenient for right or left hand use. Convenient push button, single hand lid opening. Illuminated on-off switch. Cord stores neatly in base: adjusts to desired length, cool touch bottom.

Good looking, but cheaply made poorly designed August 2, 2010 Arbsonia97 (Phila, PA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I thought I would love this kettle because it was glass and you could see how much water was inside and it looks gorgeous, with a contemporary design and would match my black and stainless kitchen. Well, it does boil water and did look good for a few weeks. I like the cordless feature.
After a month the lid became difficult to close--the buttons inside the lip of the lid stick which causes the lid to not close all the time. If I push the little buttons in then it closes. Its a small hassle.
There was a coating on the handle that made it easier to grip--in about 3 months the coating started to peel and looks unsightly, rather like how skin peels after a bad sunburn. I tried to rub that off as much as I could to lessen its unsightliness and it did help a little. But afterall this was not inexpensive and a might disappointment to me.
Problems with lid July 23, 2010 GB 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a nice looking kettle and boils the water fairly quickly. Our tap water caused the glass to build up visible scale quickly; switching to bottled water solved that issue (and the tea tasted better).
From the day this kettle arrived, however, the lid has been a problem. There are two small spring-loaded pegs on the lid that fit into recesses in the top of the kettle body. They don't glide in very easily, so the lid can be difficult to close (more fiddly than my previous, cheaper, kettle). Quite quickly I realized that it was important to press the lid release button as you closed the lid - otherwise it was putting too much strain on these little plastic pegs. But, while I got used to doing that, it's a poor design and a fiddly operation. Not what one would expect to have to mess around with on a fairly expensive kettle.
After about 9-10 months I found some black pieces of plastic floating around in the kettle. Realized it was the pegs starting to "disintergrate". Eventually they had both completely broken apart and I was left with a lid that didn't close properly. That's pretty dangerous because (1) it increases the risk of spilling the boiling water and (2) the kettle will no longer shut off when it boils.
Given that my kettle was still under warranty, I called the company. Initially I was told that the lid might be replaced. I was then told to send the kettle in and that they would go ahead an send me a replacement. So I boxed it up, paid about $10 for the return postage, and sent it off. When I called today, three days after it had arrived at their office, they still hadn't looked at it and I was told they might fix it rather than replace it. I realize that this is pretty standard practice for warranties, but what I don't approve of is telling a customer one thing and then changing the terms of the offer. Before I decided to spend the time and money returning it, I was told I would get a replacement. Now I've been told I MIGHT get a replacement. The staff all seem personable, but I'm a big believer in following through on what has been promised. So, we'll see...
UPDATE: Almost 3 weeks after they received the kettle and their service department still hasn't "evaluated" it yet.
UPDATE#2: After I'd almost given up, I received a brand new kettle in the mail, with a personalized note apologizing for the inconvenience. Not the fastest turnaround, but they did come through as promised in the end. In the meantime, I broke down and bought a different kettle, so I've left the replacement ChefChoice in the box for future use(!)
Stylish and works great June 22, 2010 Mr. Peter Bengtsson (Raleigh, NC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Works perfectly fine. Maybe the only bad thing is that it's easy to pour too fast and it spilling over a little but that's what you get when there has to be a little filter near the outlet dent.
DO NOT BUY May 16, 2010 Felicia Levinson 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
It looks great and works well but DO NOT BUY THIS TEA POT what ever you do. There is only one problem with this tea pot. It smells like a terrible plasticy smell. And even worse it make all the water taste like it too

Great looking kettle and no element in the jug which is a plus. Quiet and fast, love it
